New Haven Youth Soccer is dedicated to fostering a diverse, safe, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere; the program will focus on enjoyment, good sportsmanship, physical fitness, respectful behaviors, and teamwork.

New Haven Youth Soccer is dedicated to fostering the educational, personal, and physical growth of adolescents by providing a challenging and rewarding athletic experience. Through soccer, participants develop essential values such as leadership, teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Players are encouraged to remain humble in victory, gracious in defeat, and recognize that the lessons learned through athletic competition prepare them for the greatest challenge of all: life.


Our goal across all programs is to create a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment where players can develop their soccer skills through creative coaching, enjoyable activities, and strong leadership, with an emphasis on the fundamental technical aspects of the game.

Field Status

    FAQ's

    • How do I register?

      Before you can register you will need to create an account with our website.  Simply go to the "Register/Login" Banner and follow the prompts to select the programming available for your child.  You will be asked to supply an ID / Password and additional information for your account.  Account information should be pertinent to Parents or Guardians.  Following that, you will be requested to add your children as participants.


      Please note there can only be ONE ACCOUNT per FAMILY (all players in the family must be on the same account).  


      Please be sure your account information is correct, the address, phone number and email are used for future communication.   Moving forward your information from previous seasons has been saved to make your registration process more convenient.  

    • Do I create a new profile every time I register my children?

      No!  Once your FAMILY profile is set up in this system you will be able to log in and modify your information should anything change.  You will use this profile every season you register for soccer.  It will be a very fast process once you put your information in for the first time.

    • Where does my team practice and play?

      We practice and play at East Shore Park, Woodward Avenue, New Haven.  Specific practice/game dates are managed by the individual coaches.


    • How do I know if my game or practice is canceled due to inclement weather?

      Coaches will message all participants directly via PlayMetrics indicating changes to players schedules.  The full field status is also visible on the homepage of our website.

    • How do I know what age group to place my child in?

      Visit our Age Matrix chart that can be found here as well as on our home page.

    • If my child signs up for any of the in-house registration clinics can they also participate in the travel program?

      Yes

    • If my child withdraws from the season, will I be reimbursed?

      NHYS does not offer reimbursement once the season starts.



    • How do I know if we qualify for financial support?

      Please email Admin@NYHYS.Soccer PRIOR TO PAYING FOR or completing your child's application and include the following:

      1) Child's name 

      2) Child's age 


      Once we hear from you we will respond back with where we can help and instructions on how to continue with your application.  We cannot reimburse for previously paid for registrations.

    New Haven Youth Soccer Celebrates National Coaching Excellence and Championship Success

    New Haven, CT — New Haven Youth Soccer (NHYS) proudly announces two major achievements that highlight the strength, leadership, and commitment of its coaching staff: Director of Coaching and Head Coach Todd Hill has been named 2025 United Soccer Coaches Youth Coach of the Year , and NHYS coaches Nick Murphy and Nick Rayas have led their team to a National Championship title.

    Todd Hill Named 2025 United Soccer Coaches Youth National Coach of the Year

    We are excited to share a major achievement from our soccer community! United Soccer Coaches recently announced that Todd Hill of New Haven Youth Soccer has been named the 2025 Youth National Coach of the Year. Selected from nationwide nominations submitted by Member Club programs and youth coaches across the country, Coach Todd was recognized for his extraordinary 34-year dedication to the sport. Throughout his career—spanning academy leadership, high school programs, and collegiate club teams—he has focused on balancing player development with a supportive, growth-minded environment. As a product of New Haven Youth Soccer himself, Coach Todd’s approach emphasizes values that extend far beyond the pitch, mentoring young athletes in commitment, problem-solving, teamwork, and continuous improvement.     ⚽️ U12 Girls Competitive Team ⚽️ Coach Nick & Coach Tomas Our U12 Girls Competitive team earned a 1-0 victory over Amity! ?? Maybelle delivered the game's lone goal in the first half giving the team the edge they needed. The team worked hard to create several scoring opportunities. Frances played hard defense and great passing in the middle. The defense held off a late charge by Amity, led by Currine who played center defense for the first time in her career. ?️? A special shoutout to Sophie our goalkeeper, who came up with several key saves to preserve the shutout. ?⚽ Great job, girls! Keep up the hard work! ❤️?⚽

    10/9/26 - U14 Boys Comp Team Coached by Britt Hafner and Manager Jamie. The NHYS U14 Boys Comp team kicked off league play Friday night in Wallingford with a performance that showcased the determination and character of this young squad. Facing adversity from the opening whistle, the team began the match with just nine players. Despite being shorthanded, the boys held Wallingford scoreless for the first six minutes before additional players arrived. Once at full strength, NHYS settled into the match, controlled the tempo, and entered halftime with an impressive 2-1 lead. Playing with only 11 players and no substitutes, the young roster faced the challenge of competing on a full-size field while many players logged their first full 80-minute match. As fatigue set in during the second half, Wallingford capitalized and pulled away for a 5-3 victory. Despite the result, NHYS continued to battle until the final whistle and highlighted the night with a spectacular individual goal. Scoring three goals while playing an entire league match without a bench demonstrated the team's skill, resilience, and competitive spirit. While the season opener ended in a loss, the effort and growth displayed by the squad provided plenty of reasons for optimism as they look ahead to the remainder of the season. Coach and players alike left the field encouraged by the team's performance and excited for what lies ahead.

They brought great energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork from start to finish, embracing every challenge along the way, including a rainy Day 2! ?️? On the field, they played with skill, heart, and confidence. Their passing stood out all weekend, earning compliments from opposing coaches and showing just how much they're growing as a team. Most importantly, they're learning to trust each other, play together, and believe in what they can accomplish.
